As a critical member of the Chancellor's team, this position is charged with the administrative and technical support of the Chancellor's Office and the Chancellor themself. Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, this position supports the Chancellor's goals by ensuring that scheduling, communication, and meeting/event logistics are accurate and managed promptly. As a key point of contact for the Chancellor, this position interacts on their behalf with students, faculty, and staff, as well as the greater Denver community.
Areas of core responsibility include managing the Chancellor's calendar and executive travel, liaising with key offices on CU Denver's campus and across the CU System, expense reimbursement, event support, and other projects as needed. Working in tandem with the Executive Assistant, this person will take initiative to achieve goals and objectives, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting positive working relationships. The role requires strong organizational and project management skills, effective problem solving, and the ability to handle complex tasks under pressure.
Administrative Assistant to the Chancellor
What you will do:
- With direction from the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, manage the Chancellor's calendar, ensuring that engagements are appropriately reviewed and prioritized, and appropriate materials are collected for all engagements.
- Maintain systems to track all scheduling requests with accuracy. Communicate status of requests with internal and external stakeholders.
- Respond in a timely manner to requests from various sources, both internal and external, for the Chancellor's time.
- In support of the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, researches, gathers, organizes, and summarizes information to create briefings, ensuring the chancellor is prepared for every meeting and engagement.
- Arrange the Chancellor's executive travel, including bookings and reservation management.
- Support processes to maintain streamlined office operations.
- Develop and handle routine correspondence and materials, sensitive and confidential employee information, and employee personnel files.
- Work with Executive Assistant to the Chancellor and other Cabinet-level officials and their teams on logistics and set-up for key meetings and events, including room reservations and catering.
- Manage general office administration and operations including facility needs, supplies inventory, time sheets, expense reports, memberships, subscriptions, etc.
- Be able to adapt and work in partnership with various administrators.
- Promotes positive, welcoming, service-oriented culture in the Office of the Chancellor.
- Handles highly sensitive and confidential materials without risk of disclosure.
- Ensures adherence to all University of Colorado policies.
- Other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution
- Four (4) years senior-level executive support experience
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
- At least four (4) years of experience working in a complex environment with progressive responsibility; experience supporting higher education executives preferred.
- Experience working with Concur, or similar, procurement and travel software.

Conditions of Employment
Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $48,890 - $54,036.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
